Caretaker API

Every endpoint below is a public read: no sign-in, no key, no request body, and nothing is ever written. They answer with JSON from any origin (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *) and are throttled to around 60 reads per address per minute — a guard against a runaway script, not an access control, so do not rely on it as one. Amounts are DEGEN in whole units, and every tip shown is confirmed on Base.

`GET /api/public/tips`

The most recent confirmed tips, newest first. Cancelled, pending and demo rows are never included, and neither is a tip whose sender or recipient turned Public tipping activity off.

Parameters

limit — How many tips to return. 1 to 50. Defaults to 20.

`GET /api/public/leaderboards`

Caretaker's leaderboards for one time window: most tipped creators, top tippers, and more. Entries name people by Farcaster identity; no wallet address is included.

Parameters

window — One of 24h, 7d, 30d, all. Defaults to 7d.

`GET /api/public/profile`

A Farcaster identity for one ID: username, display name and picture. No wallet address and no tip numbers, so nothing a person keeps private is exposed here.

`GET /api/public/stats`

App-wide totals across the same confirmed, real tips this API lists.

Errors

A failure always answers with JSON of the shape

400 — A parameter is out of range or not one of the allowed values.
404 — No such resource, or no Farcaster profile with that ID.
429 — Too many reads from one address in a short time. Wait a moment.
503 — Caretaker's database or the Farcaster profile provider is briefly unavailable.

These reads cover what Caretaker already shows in public. Turning Public tipping activity off in the app removes your tips from this API too, exactly as it removes them from the Global activity feed, and the leaderboards leave out the same accounts. Your own balances, tips, inbox and settings stay behind the app's own screens and are not part of this API.
